Death At World Sauna Championships In Heinola, Finland

Report Details:
  • The recent World Sauna Championship was marred by the death in the final of Russian Vladimir Ladyzhensky.
  • The reigning champion, Timo Kaukonen from Finland, received burns & required admission to hospital.
  • The temperature of the sauna was 110 C (230 F).
  • The event which has been held since 1999 in Heinola, Finland will never be staged again.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Revealed to Have Jewish Past

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is revealed to have Jewish past according to a report in the Telegraph newspaper (link).

A photograph of Ahmadinejad, holding up his identity card, during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots. He was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver. Sabourjian is a well known Jewish name in Iran.

A note on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to Islam after his birth.
